saved by the fedora

Celebrities wearing fedora hats

So this summer I have really been saved by my fedora. What do I mean, you ask? I mean that while this summer is filled with heat and humidity, my hair has had too many days of being completely out of control.  By wearing a fedora, I am able to cover this "out of control" hair with something that's totally stylish and looks relaxed. Lately I have been loving my light yellow fedora, but today while I was with Jane at Urban Outfitters I purchased a brown one which I am sure will get plenty of use this summer. Also, people in Europe like them, so yippee(!!!) I get to bring them with me.

Here are a few cute fedoras, you know, in case you are on the search. Enjoy!

Wedged in between

So ever since college, I have been trying to look for more "dress up" and less "music festival" style clothing and shoes, although it's been hard. I just can't knock my love for anything bohem and 100% comfortable. I have never been the one to rock out high heels all the time, as much as I would like to, due to my tendencies to become more active than I imagine. High heels hurt after a night of dancing, walking all over the city, and moving around the party like a social butterfly. Whenever I do dare to wear high heels, I usually have ballet flats in my purse to change in to on the way home. Thus, when I dress up, I tend to break out the wedges; wedges are more comfortable, easier to wear, and look just as cute. When I go to Spain, I am only bringing one pair of heels, and the rest will be wedges because, lets be honest, that's what I am going to be wearing. Here is a collection of some of the wedges I have been crushing over lately. Enjoy!

Summer Cine

Sunday morning and afternoon was my "gym time", where I spent hours on the treadmill (walking, not running, no worries) and took part in Zumba class. After all this gym time I was feeling good, and when my Dad suggested dinner and a movie, I was feeling even better!

We originally were going to see Bad Teacher, but after I checked critics ratings and showing times, we changed our minds and went to Midnight in Paris. I absolutely loved the film! I had no preconceived notions of what the movie might have been like, considering I had seen one preview and was completely confused by that; this helped, because I went in expecting nothing and left completely pleased and intellectually stimulated (a little, not a lot, don't get too antsy). The movie ended up being more about a blast to the past, mixing in the nostalgic artists, writers, and icons from the twenties with modern day life. While I don't want to give up too much about the movie, I will tell you that it takes a number of jabs at society and groups of today, particularly the tea party, which provided some of those "funny and true" moments. Whoever wrote this movie obviously studied hard in their Art History and Literature classes, because they had everything pretty historically accurate, while intertwining a lot of comedic relief.

So, with that movie being said, here are the summer movies that I am dying to see. Some are just for fun, and some look super interesting. Let me know if you want to join!
